Picking Up a Free Snapshot

So you ran into a strange man on the street while vacation,
he took your picture and promised you a free digital copy of the photograph.
Following the link on the business card led you here.
Congratulations, you've arrived at the right place.

Instructions to retrieve a photo:

Free snapshots are filed with the art photos by location and date.
  1. Follow the link in the toolbar to browse the gallery of photographs.
  2. Select the gallery corresponding to the date and location of the photograph. For example, if you were standing on a street corner in Prague in 2003, you would select album Prague, 2003 (I'd recommend selecting this album anyway, its quite good)
  3. Browse the gallery until you find the proper photo.
  4. Click on it to view the photo.
  5. Under the photo, there are several size options listed they look something like this:
    [600x450] [640x480] [1024x768]
  6. Click on the largest to show the best quality version of the image.
  7. Right-click (Mac users: control-click) on the photo and select 'save image as...' from the popup-menu.
  8. Save the photo on your computer somewhere where you can find it again later.
  9. The photo is now yours. You can email it, crop it, print it and basically do what you wish with it.

Printing Photos:

"But I want an actual photograph that I can hold in my hands."

You have several options here, varying in ease and price:

  • Print directly from Angry Monkey Photography
  • Directly is somewhat incorrect. There are several online photo printing services that can link to the Angry Monkey Photography. These services are independent from Angry Monkey Photography and 1000angrymonkeys.com. We receive none of the profits from printing and have no say in the decisions or policies of these third party web sites. We have however had positive results ordering from these sites and are willing to direct business to them. Once you begin to placing an order you are dealing with a separate company from Angry Monkey Photography. All questions, comments and concerns should be directed towards them.

When viewing a photo, in the upper left corner of the web page is a link that says:
[print this photo with <select service>]
Select a photo printing service from the pull down menu. This will send you to a page for the printing service.

The actual printing through these sites is relatively cheap, however shipping is a bit more. For example, at the time of this writing, printing a single 4x6 through shutterfly was $0.41 and shipping was $1.79.

  • Print the photo on your own

    • Save the photo to disk and print on your own photo quality printer.
    • Save the photo to disk and take it to any local photo store or pharmacy that offers printing from digital sources. CVS, Walgreens and many local photo stores offer this, usually for about $0.30 per 4x6.CVS even seems to offer the ability to order a print online and pick it up in your local store, saving on shipping costs.

Please do not attempt to print anything from this site other than the snapshot for which you received the Angry Monkey Photography business card.
Copyrights for all other photographs are retained by Alexander Holman or Emily Holman. Images displayed on the web site are watermarked and of a resolution too low to produce quality prints.
